How do I become a member?

First, make sure this is something you want to do.  The decision to join and serve should not come lightly.  If you've never been involved in a fire department before, you may want to talk with a friend or neighbor who has and can give you a true understanding of what we do, and what is required.  Also feel free to stop by the station and ask questions, or just meet some of the volunteers.

Once you've made the decision, the first step in the process is to complete an application which you can either download here, or pick up at the station.

The application requires the signatures of two sponsoring members which must be current members in good standing.

Once you've completed the application you may turn in it at the station any time someone is there.

The membership committee will contact you at the phone number you provided to arrange an interview.

After your interview, the membership committee will present your application at the next monthly membership meeting and provide the general membership with a reccomendation.  The general membership then votes to either accept or reject your application.  The membership committee will contact you to let you know the result.

 
Do I have to go into burning buildings?

Only if you want to be a firefighter.  There are many other opportunities available for those who would like to serve in another capacity.

 
What if I'm only here for College?

We welcome college students to apply for membership with the department.
